In The Beginning...

Well, Football Manage 2013 has downloaded, I'm setting up a database as I type this so here's a run through of how this is going to work;

I've decided I'm going to start at Coventry City in the Npower League 1 as a manager with no past experience, i'm probably going to have to re learn a lot of the features of this game, so bare with me.

The database has finished it's business so here we are:

Having had a quick breeze through the initial discussions with the chairman and my assistant I've come to my team report, this is what i'm going to be working with this season.
From looking at this I already know I'm going to be slimming my midfield down and buying myself a few quality strikers.
The two main things I've noticed so far are that Football Manager has changed a lot since i last played and that my wage and transfer budget are going to be a problem. As a fan i already knew that the club had issues with finances, but looking at the three pictures that will follow, it is clear that I'm going to have a real issue building on this squad without getting rid of a fair few players.
So this is my wage and transfer budget, I'm obviously going to be trawling through the free transfer market this year.
This here shows where my wage budget is going, i have about £3,000 a week left, which obviously isn't a lot.

The main things i was interested to see here was that the club has lost £35k in the 0 in-game hours I have been playing, and that the club owes £30m which has to be payed back in 2 years, so I'm going to be having no fun in my first few seasons with buying big money players.

The Journey Begins... Almost.

So, I've just purchased Football Manager 2013, quite excited, within a few hours i shall be writing the first on-topic entry to this blog!

As far as i'm concerned I got a really good deal, on 'http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/gb/en/pc/games/sports/football-manager-2013/' with the code  GMGFM-35OFF-SCORE it only cost me £20, the first piece of wheeling and dealing to date.

Post 1, Introduction and a little bit about me.

Ok, so this is my first post in my first ever blog, exciting right?

I'm a 16 year old, soon to be 17, Male from the East Midlands, somewhere between Coventry and Leicester. I'm into Football, Cycling, Cars, Being social and i do rather enjoy dabbling in Video Games every so often. I'm doing A-Levels currently; Psychology, 3D Graphic Product Design, Maths, and Computing.

Over the coming days/weeks/months/years/decades or whatever, i'm hopefully going to be running myself a little football manager blog, I've seen a couple around and they looked like a really good idea and i thought i'd try one for myself. Now truthfully I've never actually followed a Football Manager blog from start to finish so if there's a standard format or syntax for writing these blogs, i probably won't be following it. I'll most likely post updates at the end of every in-game month, but in transfer windows and exciting parts of the season i'll probably be more regular to post updates.

Now i'm going to admit i haven't even bought FM 2013 yet and i actually never even had 2012, which is a pretty weak start really, the last one i had was 2011, which i loved to bits, I had a file with Coventry City (My favourite club, but don't let that put you off, i'm not that bad), a file with Hinckey United (My local team, from the Blue Square North/South) and a few other ones with teams like Morecambe and Hereford whom i chose because of their cool emblems. This meant i racked up an impressive 871 hours of play time, also most of this was actual game play (I never left it on over night or whilst i went on a 6 hour bike ride etc.).

My first Football Manager was 2007, and 2009 and 2012 are the only two i missed, so i'm fairly experienced and fingers crossed i won't annoy any hardcore fans who've had the series since Championship Manager '94 or whatever with my inability to play the game.

You wouldn't believe how much i had to wrestle with this image to put it here.
To round off i'm hopefully going to have bought the game by the end of today and will start posting shortly after, if you have any complaints, criticisms or constructive feedback, please feel free offer them to me, as i say i'm pretty much doing this blind so any comments will be gratefully received. Also on a side note, if anyone does get really into this and start enjoying the blog, i'd just like to say, i am currently doing A-Levels so occasionally this blog will slip off my list of priorities, and also my download of Google Chrome decided not to have a UK English spell check dictionary so there may be a few more z's and americanisms than you were hoping for at some points.

Cheers for reading guys, hope you enjoy!
